Scheduling - schema & template

Match Master Schedule

The Match Master Schedule is an amalgamation of the matches scheduled for each of the Rugby Virginia leagues and lists all matches currently scheduled.  The Match Master Schedule is used by the database to provide detail to the various Conference schedules (see Menu above) and the Results & Standings tables.

The following schema is intended to assist the League Commissioners & Competitions Committee, Conferences, Clubs, and Coaches assemble consistent & uniform match schedules that lend themselves to the requirements and constraints of a relational database.

  1. Please compile schedules using an Excel spreadsheet with fourteen (14) columns - labeled as shown in the example below - to conform to the fields (columns & column sizes) in the Rugby Virginia database.   (Information contained in an Excel spreadsheet is easily imported  into a database.)
  2. Please use a separate worksheet for each Conference, Division, & Gender.  In order to permit accurate sorting within the database, consistency with spelling & format is essential, especially with dates and conference, division, & team names.  Remember, a database is dumb and reads "Peninsula HS Girls" and "Peninsula Girls HS" as two distinct conferences.
  3. When a schedule has been finalized, please e-mail to the webmaster at webmaster@rugbyva.org .
